      [FAQ]

Q.Does it hurt to lie on the Mat?
      A. During the first few minutes you may experience a slightly painful sensation.

We recommend that you stay with this sensation and spend some time breathing deeply into your abdomen.

After a few minutes a warm sensation will develop where the  energy mat touches your body. Blood circulation increases very quickly and this will help to?dissolve any tension.

Any sensations of pins and needles will disappear and be replaced by a deep feeling of relaxation, as after a good night of deep sleep.

Q.How does the Mat promote relaxation?

      A. The 9450 spikes in the Mat stimulate the nerves where the spikes meet the body.

The nerves send impulses from these points to the brain and endorphin, as well as other various substances, in the brain releases energy and relaxation to the nervous system and muscles.

Q.How long should I lie on the Mat?
      A. We recommend 20-40 minutes per treatment, but there is no danger with longer treatments.

Many fall asleep on the Mat and there is no danger in doing so.

Q.How does the Mat affect the body?
      A. According to research done in Russian hospitals:

      - Promotes a decrease in pain

      - Resolves stress.

      - Strengthens the immune system.

      - Increases the metabolism.

      - Decreases inflammation.

      Q.Can the Mat be washed?

      A. Yes, when needed the Mat can be hand washed in luke warm water and hung to dry. Avoid machine wash and dryer as the spikes can be damaged.

Q.Can the  Mat only be used on the back?

      A. No! The Mat can be used on the whole body (see the usage page). However, the whole body will be affected if you lie down on it on your back as the nerves around the spine radiates energy to the whole body.

Q.Is the  Mat suitable for people with heart conditions?

      A. We dont recommend using the  Mat if a heart condition is present.

Q.Is the  Mat suitable for pregnant women?

A.We don`t recommend using the Mat while pregnant.

Q.Is it dangerous to use the  Mat if I have inflammation in my joints or muscles?

      A. Many people experience much improvement with the use of the Mat. Place the inflamed area on the  Mat or gently press the Mat directly on the area. This increases the blood circulation and helps the area to heal.

Q.Is it ok to use the Mat if I have any skin condition?

      A. It is possible that the spikes can irritate or worsen a sensitive and inflamed skin. You can use a thin cloth between the skin and the mat. If you experience any negative affects you need to stop using the mat immediately.

WONDERFUL! OK, I have spinal stenosis, a bulging disc, a bone spur on a vertebrae, compacted discs, crumbling discs, degenerative disc disease, degenerative joint disease, ankylosing spondylitis (sp!) not to mention Fibromyalgia and a shoulder injury that causes problems with my shoulder blade, collar bone and muscles in my back and neck... and I am skeptical about anything that supposedly helps with pain or sleep because I've never found that anything lives up to the advertising or hype....but a personal friend told me about her Spoonk and how she loved it so much she was getting one for her sister...I thought...worth a try. BOY is it WORTH a TRY! Anyone in pain knows the value of decreasing it and getting rest...the Spoonk actually is better than an acupuncturist (which did little to nothing for me) I lay on this even on my bed and I re position on it and after 30 min or more I hang it up and go to bed feeling MUCH better and sleeping better. I think it increases circulation and natural endorphins for me-I hope it does something helpful for you-it's worth the try!

Easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. In fact, this mat works so well for relaxation and pain relief that I purchased a few more as gifts. If you are wondering about a Christmas gift this year, look no further. . The mat itself is my favorite. I have used mine almost daily for over a year and the mat is still firm, the prods are still intact, and the carrying bag is still as good as new.

What's so great about the CHIROPRACTIC mat? It draws blood to the areas you lie on. You feel a wave of heat and the prickly feelings disappear. Then a deep relaxation sets in. Your muscles release tension. The less you move the better, by the way. If you enjoy a great back scratching, then shift about a little. But if you are simply in need of a pleasant stillness, just put your weight on the mat and don't move. In my opinion, the mat is best used on a bed or couch with your bare skin touching it.

Often, simply lying on the mat puts me to sleep. So, watch out. Don't lie on it too long, or you wake up looking like a city of elves has used your body for dart practice. No big deal. No real pain. But it feels a bit unpleasant and sore.

The more sensitive parts of your body will require time and patience to get used to the initial prickly feeling, but hang in there. Pleasure is guaranteed. Often, sore muscles are less sore too. I think the rush of blood to the sore areas initiates healing.

Overall, great product. Worth every dime.

Spikes were a lot sharper than I expected, and took quite a while to get used too. However, once I did it was very relaxing. I never thought it helped me sleep, but I do enjoy it. And believe it or not, so does my cat.

The chiropractic mat was recommended to me by my sister, who had recently bought one for herself, and loved it. I did some research online, and saw all of the positive reviews, and decided to give it a shot. The chiropractic mat arrived quickly, in a very cool travel bag. The large mat is big enough for the whole back, and the smaller mat folds up and secures to make a pillow for shoulders, neck, and head. Both mats are covered in small plastic disks that have 25 + closely spaced raised, sharp, triangular points that are about 1/4 of an inch high. The points are not quite sharp enough to make you bleed, but they are very sharp. Based on the other reviews, I laid on the mats the first time with my shirt on. I didn't really feel much at all. The second time I used the mats in the buff. The pain was so exquisite that I could only tolerate about five minutes. The next time, I put in some relaxing music, and set a goal to try to stay on the mat for 20 minutes. Oh, what wonderful, magical bliss! After the first five or so minutes of pain, the pain sort of melts away into a feeling of warmth. It literally feels like I am laying on a heating pad or electric blanket. I guess the nerve endings acclimate to the pointy things when you lay still. Then comes a magical feeling as the endorphins kick in; a feeling of deep relaxation and meditative bliss. This feeling lasts for quite a while, at least for me. I describe it as a runner's high, without all that tedious running. I am now trying to make time every day to use the mat. Sometimes after a rough day at work, I can't wait to get home to lie on the mat and decompress. I've bought one as a gift for my mom, and have recommended it to countless other people. My only wish for the points is that one day they will make one that is full-sized, like a twin size bed.. I have added a few photos of the spikes.

suppose this is one of those items that I just could not resist trying out for myself. I chose this set simply because it came with the 2 mats. I first layed down on this set with no shirt and wow the first thought was could I possibly lay on this spikey mat for another minute.... I toughed it out and like others say soon warmth and relaxing healing sensations started to take over. Did not purchase to help go to sleep easier but for circulation and pressure therapy and atleast my short term results have been great. I also thought it would be useful for my girlfriend but she just lightly touched the mat and said absolutely will not be trying that.
